Groupama’s Motorbike Insurance Cover: Optima Bike
A leading insurer in the UK, Groupama Insurance Company Ltd is part of the parent company, Groupama, which is one of the largest property and casualty mutual companies on a global level. It is a member of the Association of British Insurers and is authorised and regulated by the FSA or Financial Services Authority. Both companies can trace their origination back more than 150 years, presenting a strong and lasting presence in the financial sector.
Trained through the “Investment in People” program, Groupama meets their personal goal of providing quality service that applies high standards. Plus, their well-trained staff members are accessible 24 hours a day to process accident, theft, and emergency claims or questions.
Groupama’s motorbike policy was designed specifically for mopeds, scooters, and smaller motorbikes. However, they provide quite competitive premium rates for bikes that have more than 400cc through their enhanced policy design, which is intended to reach more riders.
Their motorbike policy is known by its name, Optima Bike. The Optima Bike Policy is a highly tailored or individualized motorbike policy that takes into consideration the lifestyles of the riders as well as the make, model, and age of the motorbike. Therefore, they are able to offer a wide variety of discounts to make their motorbike cover even more affordable to its policyholders.
Groupama offers three levels of insurance cover: Third Party Only, Third Party, Fire, & Theft, and Comprehensive insurance. Third Party Only cover provides the basic cover as required by law.
For better cover, Groupama includes certain features as standard policyholder benefits with Comprehensive and Third Party, Fire, & Theft covers. Third Party legal liability cover is included for property damage up to an amount of £20,000,000.
Additionally, the damage or loss of the motorbike, its spare parts, and accessories are covered under certain catastrophic events such as fire or theft. The damage or loss of any standard manufacturer fitted satellite navigation or audio equipment is also covered under both of these umbrellas. Plus, the losses of motorbike keys as well as the replacement of locks for the motorbike are covered for an amount up to £400.
Plus, riders are covered with a Third Party Only cover while riding other motorbikes. They also acquire a 365-day full policy cover for travelling in the European Union free of charge while covered with Comprehensive or Third Party, Fire, & Theft covers.
Plus, premium discounts are offered for a variety of reasons including the installation of enhanced security devices, restricted riding aspects, and the no claims discount that can be taken for as many as nine years. Repairs under either of these covers are guaranteed for up to three years with a partnership repairer.
Comprehensive motorbike cover also includes a variety of additional options including the damage or loss of the motorbike, its spare parts, and accessories due to accidents. If the insured motorbike is less than six months old and registered under the policyholder’s name as a new bike when it is involved as a total loss in an accident, it is replaced as though it were brand new.
Plus, an amount of £40 is available toward hotel accommodations for a single night if the motorbike cannot be ridden due to the damage incurred during an accident that occurred away from home. This can make an unpleasant situation slightly more bearable.
As with any insurance policy, certain terms and conditions might vary for individual situations. In all cases, the terms of excess as depicted in the policy will apply under all circumstances. Groupama provides access to detailed policy information online.
